“Casa Paz y Amour was created from a vision and longing to have a space for healing, learning, transformation, memory making, art making, fun and community.”
As a young child and adolescent my mother dreamed of a house for us to live in where we could all have our own room. I am the oldest of ten and it took her several years and a lot of coupon clipping to find “the big house.” I loved being in a big house with gardens and a yard and lots of space to put up art. I loved having a place to be alone as well as places to come togethe, eat, hang out, talk and be with one anothe. That is the feeling and the arrangement that I am always looking for in my living and work space. It has created that feeling in my home inLos Angelesunder theHollywoodsign. However, the office wasn’t large enough for workshops in and it didn’t’ have a bathroom. Although southernCaliforniais an amazing place, somehow as a single mom with an adopted child, my professional income alone wasn’t ever quite enough to manifest my vision of having an office at home for workshops and to house my large art collection. So after twenty five years it was time for a change.
So, after much meditation, contemplation and visioning I found The Casa inAlbuquerqueNew Mexico. It had the bare bones for everything I wanted. It could house my art and artifacts from my world travels, it had a large community room where I could see clients, has a space to hold workshops, and has a separate entrance and bathroom so that clients didn’t need to come into my private space. Clients were able to enter through one of the four gardens which created a wonderful out door waiting space when the weather was clement; it had five bedrooms, which allowed me to have guests and additional rental income and the space was laid out so that you could be cooking at 4am and not disturb anyone on the other side of the Casa who might be sleeping.
When you look at the before photos you might not be able to see what I saw when I walked through the front door. The first time I saw it I knew that someone had built the house for me. It is now almost complete and it can be the space for you too.
Enjoy the transformation of the space as you look at the photos. You will see the vision unfolding and the hard work Anjelica and I have done. We hope that you love it as much as we do. We hope that you will think about booking time with your family for a reunion. We hope that you can envision being at the Casa all together to celebrate weddings and graduations together rather than in separate hotel rooms and common areas where your not allowed to wear your pajama’s. Folks have also come together to grieve the loss of a loved one and celebrate their life here. Perhaps you will start to imagine romantic weekends with a sweetheart or an opportunity to bring family and close friends together to renew your vows. We will be so happy to host you and help create memories that will last a life time. Come see us soon.
